Thank you very much for leading the GC Referee Course at Wrest Park on Thursday. As an ex teacher I was in awe of your amazingly helpful handouts with equally amazing graphics. I feel very much more empowered after attending your session. Glynis
I thoroughly enjoyed the day (Ed: GC Sound Foundations, led by Neil Stewart, at Cheltenham CC) and felt I had come away with some 'golden nuggets' . This information will, I know, help me to both continue to improve my game and its enjoyment. Veronica
Re AC Improving Your Game for Intermediate Players Course (9 Apr 2024) - a big "Thank You" to Raouf (very ably assisted by Tony and Alan). It was focused, intense and very useful. Overall, very worthwhile. Ludolph
Thank you both very much for the intriguing and most comprehensive learning curve (Ed: AC Building Better Breaks with Richard Peperell). Minty
Just to say thank you to you and your team for the training yesterday (Ed. Coaches Seminar 10 Feb 24, led by Rich Waterman). It was inspiring and good to see what is going on nationally and be refreshed on all things coaching. Julia
Thank you very much for an excellent course (Introduction to Club-Level Tournament Management Course, led by Chris Roberts), which more than fulfilled my needs and expectations. A lot to take in, but so well supported by handouts. Jennian
My thanks to Raouf for his excellent coaching today. It was an hour really well spent! I would thoroughly recommend his Swing Clinic to others. Lindy
Thank you for the way the weekends course (Ed. Becoming a Coach) was presented. You all (Ed. Rich Waterman, Raouf Allim, Ian Shore) made it a very enjoyable weekend for both of us. Stephen and Debbie.
Thank you again for running the GC Referee course – really well organised and very professional. Ian
Thank you both for a very instructive and enjoyable day yesterday! The game of Short Croquet was explained in simple steps which made it relatively easy to absorb! The course was very well planned and extremely well delivered with thought, patience and above all ... humour! Sharon
Thank you so much for a really excellent afternoon (Editor: Honing Your Competitive Edge Course). A visit to Wycombe is always enjoyable but yesterday’s session was outstanding: a ton of info covered, clearly presented and illustrated – a lot to think about. Jennian
Thank you for an excellent, well-organised and well-presented day. I really enjoyed the course, which always felt interesting, hit just the right level for me, and gave me lots of take-home ideas to work on. Ken
Thank you for Saturday’s course (Editor: AC - Building Better Breaks - led by Tony Elliott). Very well presented, the right number of pupils and many insights/ideas to practice. Minty
I had expected that the material presented during the Swing Training for Coaches Seminar yesterday would be an incremental step in my coaching but the information was unexpected and will make a step change in my coaching process. It helps enormously that it was presented by a consummate professional. Joe
I’m an experienced coach in the business world, nevertheless I value opportunities to top up knowledge, and learn the odd new trick. The “Becoming a Coach” course was indeed such an opportunity, led by a mindset guru in Rich Waterman, and with superb support from “Swing Doctor” Raouf Allim, and the “rules bible” that is Ian Shore, I learned plenty to take away and put to use in both my work and on the croquet court. I’m excited to prepare and deliver coaching session within my own club and, hope to progress further in the coming years. Richard
I was amazed at the number of topics you were able to cover in so much depth with absolutely brilliant and clear slide demonstrations. You always seem to know in advance which part people are going to have difficulty in grasping and are there with an explanation before the question has even been asked. Pam
Thank you for yesterday’s referees' refresher seminar. It was really excellent and I spent yesterday afternoon laminating all the Q cards that you provided! It was good to be able to share experiences with other refs under your guidance and very valuable and I am sure that it will make me a better referee. Tony, GC Ref. and Chair SWF
I just want to say how much I enjoyed the Refereeing Refresher Seminar on Wednesday. It was stimulating and very interesting and I think we all gained a great deal from it. For my part, with not a year under my belt, it has given me a great deal more confidence in my ability to adjudicate on the situations arising in golf croquet. Bob
I have been on several improver’s courses run by the Chiltern Academy and I can’t recommend them enough to other players. They fill the gap between playing socially and playing seriously by equipping the player with an armoury of tools to become better.…... practising the right exercises correctly ultimately improves play. The list of exercises with their purpose that a player can use is very valuable so, really before playing a session, if there is time and there is court space some available time spent on these - not necessarily all of them in one session, but several is time well spent. The course gives players a great insight into how to play well which is gold dust. Stephen
May I say how excellent I thought the course was. It was comprehensive, the handouts excellent and really useful, with time for questions, and all within an informal atmosphere; I learnt a lot. Colin
Thank you for a very enjoyable half-day referee refresher seminar last week, which offered some interesting new insights from yourself and the other participants into resolving common difficulties that referees encounter. I particularly learned from your clearly explained distinction between strokes played gently and played forcefully when there is a prospect of a double tap. Thank you also for the useful collection of aide memoires (Q Cards), which referees might refer to from time to time for tricky situations. Darryl
